Dreams don't hold my answers to life, but they are an undending source of fascination for many. Here are some interesting factoids about them. Did you know.... the scientific study of dreams is known as oneirology?..... the most common emotion experienced in dreams is anxiety?.... other emotions include pain, abandonment, fear, joy, etc?.... negative emotions are much more common than positive ones?.... twelve percent of people dream only in black and white....I thought it was more unusual to dream in color!
Side NOTE: I have had quite a few responses about the sentiment on the page...not really a quote, just something I made up!
" I walked beside the evening sea and dreamed a dream that could not be; the waves that plunged along the shore said only: "Dreamer, dream no more!"
You never know where ideas for your art journal will pop up. I saw a piece of jewelry that did it for me. The top overlaid the message underneath it. I liked it and thought it could translate into an art journal entry.
I confess. I got one of those little Flip videos. They looked like such a good idea! So one of my first attempts was to make a video of my Remains of the Day journal...page by page. For my classmates, I hope you get a few more new ideas! I do, when I see your pages.
NOTE: That is plain deli paper I am rattling around...not vellum. You can write on it with a fine sharpie with no bleed thru...get some!
I am still recovering from foot surgery...but don't feel too sorry for me. I am up and around just fine. I can't drive for a while, however, and that is what keeps me home.
Luckily, the creative mojo kicked back in and I have been having a fantastic time with Mary Ann Moss' Remains of The Day class. In an earlier post, here, I showed you the covers for this class. Out of the 60+ pages I have madly stitched, here are a few, so you get the idea of the flotsam jetsam from which they are made.
....a group of miscellaneous pages, and a loose picture at the top right. Journaling is done in light areas, backs of hinged photos, or journaling spots stitched in for that purpose. Find a blank spot...journal there!
...LOVE LOVE LOVE my POGO printer for this kind of journal.
....that's my daughter behind the security envy.
....can't tell but there is stitching around the poppy in the photo...photos are really fun to do!
....Sam's Diner had a little calendar mounted at the bottom. I just replaced it with a pic of the girlz.
