Here is a short video of my completed muslin sketchbook. I was inspired by Lynne Hoppe's style and you can visit her blog here. She has a great tutorial on doing the muslin page backgrounds. Hope you like it!
....music is Love Story Meets Love Story by Jon Schmidt.
I decided this will be my last post for the muslin sketchbook. Once I finish all the pages and put it together, I will do a little Flip video to show the whole thing. But I get on these little 'tracks' and the posts begin to feel redundant! I have about 5 more pages (front and back) to do. So here is the last post on this for a while....Poppies! My fave.
.........stay tuned for the finish book. No date promised!
Continuing the pages for my muslin sketchbook, I have departed a little (can I help it?!) to try some medium transfers. After all, one must 'see what happens if....." And I also tried typing on some white tissue paper and layering it on...which turned out pretty well.
Still working on my fabric pages. Sketched some vintage paper doll dresses tonight. This used to occupy a lot of my time, as a little girl. I loved the tabs on the dresses, that held it on the doll. Go figure!
I am slowly but surely working on these fabric pages. Ultimately, they will be stitched together on the tabs, seen on the side of the page, to form a book.
The pages are muslin, which are scraps on which I wipe off excess paints from my brush, while working on other projects. As a result, they have random backgrounds before I ever do anything else on them. Does that explain the splotchy colors here and there?
