While tending to the jumble of one of my vining plants, I noticed this very perfect scene. A bee, laid out in his final resting place, on the cool green spread of this leaf. Did he just wear out? Doesn't appear to be trauma involved. His legs folded, and wings in beautiful display. He is a fine specimen. There is a bit of glamorous red 'fuzz' on his antenae. That stinger is what would normally deter me from looking, at this close a range. Nature in it's glory...God's art.
....any guesses on what kind of bee he is? I feel an obligation to identify him correctly at the burial.
UPDATE: Apparently this is a type of yellow jacket that has several names: Bald Faced Hornet, White Faced Hornet/Wasp . Apparently not too friendly!
Much as I hate bugs of all kinds, still, it makes me sad...

It's sad; an end to a life as we know it. Maybe he's in a more peaceful place now :) xxoo
