Are you familiar with Adele's Rolling In The Deep song? Here is my favorite duo playing their version. Jon Schmidt cannot do a tune wrong! You can purchase it at his website if you have a mind to.

A while ago, I posted a video here, of a very talented girl, playing hip hop violin. The only info that video provided was her name-Lindsey. Over the next year I looked, but she didn't show up anywhere! Today, searching U-Tube for something, she cropped up and I was very excited to learn she has surfaced as a musician in her own right. Visit her website if you get a chance. Here she is, auditioning for America's Got Talent. I love her spirit!
Tell me this doesn't make you want to get up and move!

Been super busy the last month. Will be posting more about that later. In the meantime, here is a music video of one of my favorite musicians. He is going to be in Cambridge THIS Thursday night (6/24) for a FREE concert! He is from UT, and rarely plays out this way. Catch him if you can!

It was the final farewell concert being held in Giant's Stadium before being demolished later this year. Springsteen first performed here in 1985, with his then-new tour 'Born In The USA". In honor of this being the last concert here, he did the Born In The USA album in its entirety....to the THRILL of his home state, Jersey crowd! He opened with "Wrecking Ball", a new tune written just for this event. The 60,000 seat stadium was packed to the gills, including the entire floor. Many highlights to this 3 hour performance, including fireworks above the open air stadium, to wrap up. SO glad we went!

Remember your love of crayolas? You are gonna LOVE this video.
I first came across Kristin Andreassen as part of a terrific old time group of girls called Uncle Earl who have some great harmony. They refer to themselves as the g'Earls! Check out some of their recordings on their website...I love Take These Chains and many others.
Kristin did the Crayola tune as part of a contest for kids' songs, in which she won the category. This is a recent video remake of her singing it. There are other clips on the website, of her singing it candidly with kids that come up to join her on stage. Very cute.
What was your favorite color crayola?

I fiddle. I love to play the fiddle. This does not mean I am a virtuoso in ANY way! But the music is fun and makes me feel good. Every once in a while you come across someone that is amazing. Someone who is better than good, someone who is different....and you cannot help but love it. This young girl is obviously a classically trained violinist, but has found her own expression. I can barely play and chew gum at the same time....but watch her move as she plays!!!
I wish there was more of her out there, but so far, this is all I have seen. You know there have been hours and hours and hours of practice in her life. Look at what she is able to do with it now! Can you encourage your budding violinist with this?!

Last night, The Boss was in town!! My daughter had gotten me tickets for my birthday, and the two of us were off for a night of rock ‘n rolla!
My Chauffer, Erin, fearlessly navigates Boston traffic.
I am ready. I have spiffy shoes I am going to wear (once I get there! In the meantime I have my clogs on, of course). I have my camera…didn’t you see my documentation of the drive into the city? (note above pic). We get there with the 19,598 other Springsteen fans and even park with time to spare. Gather up our things, get a snack, a libation and we are IN. IN, I tell you! At this point, I realize I forgot to switch into my nifty rock concert shoes. Disappointment reigns, at not being more with it. But worse…I forgot my camera, in the car—the very instrument with which I was going to document this event to share with you! I got over it. However, you do deserve a look at just how the fabulous concert unfolded. Below is a true to life rendition of The Boss, on stage, with some bandmates, in the midst of some of their best moves.
Think, screaming fans: We love you Bruce!!!!!
Note: For those of you who have been sending me praises about my recent sketching…does this put things in a new perspective for you? ….tired, deaf, but happy.
