Are you familiar with Adele's Rolling In The Deep song? Here is my favorite duo playing their version. Jon Schmidt cannot do a tune wrong! You can purchase it at his website if you have a mind to.
We come from a LONG line of diehard Steeler fans. There is no wondering who we are cheering for in this Superbowl. My daughter, Erin, is currently home visiting, and she felt the urge to stir up some Steeler spirit before the big game. First she felt it necessary to wear the colors....
and then we laughed ourselves silly when she took it to the next level with this little performance....
The things that people do are pretty fascinating! These two have been Irish dancers since they were young, and used this method to practice before competitions. Now they are sharing it as its own artform, with the world. Take a look.
A while ago, I posted a video here, of a very talented girl, playing hip hop violin. The only info that video provided was her name-Lindsey. Over the next year I looked, but she didn't show up anywhere! Today, searching U-Tube for something, she cropped up and I was very excited to learn she has surfaced as a musician in her own right. Visit her website if you get a chance. Here she is, auditioning for America's Got Talent. I love her spirit!
Tell me this doesn't make you want to get up and move!
By the time you are reading this, I will be in CA for An Artful Journey! This art retreat is being held in Los Gatos, CA, and I will be taking a class with DJ Pettitt. However, my artsy friend, Deb, and I will be going out a few days early to enjoy the Monterey Penninsula. We will be lounging around this beautiful inn...the Jabborwock. Sketching, catching some sun, checking out life on the left coast. Re-entry to real life will be hard!
I wanted a fresh, new journal for the trip, so I made a new Remains of the Day (Mary Ann Moss) journal to take along. Instead of the cover that Mary Ann teaches, I decided to just bind my signatures in a hardcover book that I had on hand. I also left more 'open' space for sketching and painting, than I had in previous ROD journals. Here is a look inside
Been super busy the last month. Will be posting more about that later. In the meantime, here is a music video of one of my favorite musicians. He is going to be in Cambridge THIS Thursday night (6/24) for a FREE concert! He is from UT, and rarely plays out this way. Catch him if you can!
